MOZA Sim Racing Pedals: CRP2 Load Cell or mBooster Active?

Choosing between MOZA CRP2 load cell pedals and the mBooster Active Pedal Set with CRP2 Throttle comes down to the feedback you want and how you prefer to adjust your brake. Both offer precise input, but one relies on adjustable mechanical resistance while the other adds software-defined, motor-driven force feedback.

CRP2: a strong conventional load-cell choice

Our MOZA CRP2 throttle-and-brake set is ideal for drivers seeking consistent pressure-based braking and excellent value. Its 200kg-rated load-cell sensor measures pedal force; 200kg is the sensor specification, not the foot force you are expected to apply. Springs and elastomers let you tailor brake resistance from progressive to firm.

mBooster: next-level active feedback and software-defined feel

The MOZA mBooster Active Pedal Set pairs a motor-driven active brake with a conventional CRP2 throttle. In supported PC simulations it can reproduce effects such as ABS pulsing and other telemetry cues through the pedal. MOZA Pit House also lets you adjust pedal travel, resistance and response without physically swapping springs or elastomers. Those features add versatility, but do not guarantee faster laps.

Modular upgrade potential

You do not necessarily have to replace your entire CRP2 setup to adopt active technology. The mBooster can work with compatible CRP2 mechanical pedals, although retrofit installations may require MOZA's base extension plate and suitable hardware. The complete mBooster + CRP2 Throttle set already includes both the pedal plate and extension plate, alongside the active pedal power supply.

Mounting and platform checks

A stable cockpit and seat position matter with either option. The UPSHIFT R-PRO 80×40 and UPSHIFT R-MAX 160×40 can accommodate properly mounted MOZA pedal systems; check bolt locations, clearance and rigidity for your specific configuration. Advanced active effects depend on supported PC games and software; do not assume Xbox or PlayStation compatibility.
